About Kensington Design:

Growing up in London; Wyckoff, New Jersey based interior designer Kim O'Connor was always attracted by the way Europeans designed their homes. "I loved the way they had character and personality," she says. “People took great care choosing items for their homes. Furniture and accessories were accumulated over time, with the knowledge that what they bought would be passed down to their children." She has taken that design philosophy and for the past 12 years, built her residential design business around helping her clients find the right mix of timeless, quality design to work with the way modern families live.

Kim has a Fine Arts degree from New York University, and continued her education at The New York School of Interior Design.

Kensington Design enlists the services of a variety of craftsmen and artists who are accomplished in their fields. Together they work closely to create the perfect space for each client. Kim also keeps in very close contact with many antique dealers in Europe and the U.S.A. who deal in unique imported pieces. Together, they thrive on designing one of a kind homes that are comfortable, tranquil, elegant and livable.

At the Stately Homes by the Sea Showhouse, she has collaborated with Waterworks of Ridgewood, New Jersey for the design of the Guest Room Suite. The talented team of Sudio Fini, NJ was commissioned to create velvety plaster walls and the replicated, Italian hand painted entry door. They added elegant finishing touches of silverleaf pinstriping and shimmering metallics.
